Merry Christmas and Happy Pavlova.

Apologies for the extended absence. I have had no cake making time since I got back from Australia. So all cake making plans are being postponed until the new year. Extra motivation for this postponement is that with the new year comes a new and significantly nicer kitchen; much more conducive to sweet treats.

In the mean time: here are some pictures of a beautifully crafted pavlova, made for my birthday by my sister. Pavlova is the national dessert of New Zealand eaten usually in summer and most often at Christmas. And thanks to recent confirmation by the English Oxford dictionary, it is now officially the national dessert of New Zealand and is no longer subject to theft of claim by those trans-tasman dessert thieves.

Here's my wee sis cutting the pav. Serious business.

And here is the pavlova master and educator; Granny.

Merry Christmas Cake Ladies!
