Lemon Drizzle

This cake was super easy. The most dangerous bit was harvesting the lemon rind. I grated a chunk off my knuckle as well as off the lemon. I cant be trusted with sharp things.
Do you like the table cloth? Super seventies! I got it recently at Butterflies op shop. I saw it in a basket and made a really loud squeal and screeched at Cambrian insisting we had to buy it for our flat next year. He pointed out that we don't have a table.  Party pooper. This made several of the old ladies in the shop chuckle at me. I'm sure I heard one of them say "Ah, young people, *chuckle chuckle*." I bought it anyway. We will get a table goddammit.

I got the recipe for this from various internet sources. Mangled a couple of recipes together.

Ingredients:
225g butter
1 cup caster sugar
3 lemons (You need the juice and the zest)
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups of flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup ground almonds
icing sugar

Soften butter and mix in caster sugar. Add the lemon zest, then mix in one egg at a time. Sift in flour, baking powder, baking soda and mix. Add most of the lemon juice and almonds and then bake in a 20cm round tin for an hour or so at 180degrees.
EASY AS LEMONS.

For icing: mix the remaining lemon juice with some icing sugar until it makes runny icing and then 'drizzle' it over. Its so yum.
